K12 Facilities – Coronavirus Mitigation for Air and Water - UMC Energy Services

Miles Gordon will review the different types of HVAC systems that are commonly found in school buildings circa 1960, 1970, 1980, 2000 and 2020 

• a hierarchy of mitigation strategies
• air exchanges are critical and how can that be achieved while not causing undue harm to the equipment
• Legionella (Legionnaires Disease) produces similar symptoms as COVID this is something that is important to inspect for during a time when buildings are being underutilized for extended periods
• Hand washing hygiene – think about strategically placed sinks
